DB7 GT
The DB7 GT is the last technical evolution of the DB7 model range. More power, more grip, and more aggressive on-road performance define this car. The V12 Vantage is already one of the worlds finest. The GT adds power without feeling like a rolling 2x4, as some comparably performing cars can at times.
Power on the GT in based upon the Aston martin 6.0L V12, but improvements in engine management and intake help the GT produce 435bhp, as opposed to the standard 420bhp of the Vantage. With a shortened rear end ratio, lighter flywheel, and special twin plate AP racing style-clutch, the GT puts its additional 15bhp to good use. The refinements in the GT result in a 'seat of the pants' improvement that has resulted in quiet a few dropped jaws here at the dealership.
A Vanquish-style exhaust bypass system gives the GT a beautiful, aggressive exhaust note at full song, but limits exhaust drone at idle and at limited throttle openings.
Further enhancements include a more aggressive suspension, including modified suspension and steering mounts, resulting in a tighter, more direct steering feel. A brake booster originally used on the Vanquish, along with slotted rotors, and more aggressive pads mean better braking and better brake modulation under extremely high braking loads.
A new interior wood known as "Black Oak" is unique to the GT. Sport seats with alcantara inserts are included in the package, along with a special shift knob, color coded steering wheel, parchment gauge faces, aluminum climate control knobs, and full length sill plates.
Visually, the GT features a newly designed hood, an integrated deck lid spoiler, a stainless sport grills, exclusive 5-spoke wheels, and large bore tailpipes.
The GT squarely fills a slot just right of center. The added performance sharpens the car dynamically, without effecting the inherent comfort and accessibility that make the DB7 Vantage such a great grand touring car to begin with. However, for those seeking the ultimate DB7, look no further than the DB7 GT for the most power, the best handling, and the most aggressive stance.
