Vanquish S
“The fastest road car in the history of Aston Martin. A car that fuses hand-crafted tradition with the highest calibre of automotive technology. Appropriately it is our flagship car - the V12 Vanquish S - the ultimate Aston Martin.” Dr Ulrich Bez, Chief Executive Officer, Aston Martin.
The Vanquish S is an evolutionary refinement of the original V12 Vanquish, featuring a newly revised 520bhp V12 (up from 460bhp). The new car is designed to appeal to the performance-minded driver, with more power, tighter handling, and stiffer suspension.
The Vanquish S features the Sports Dynamics suspension components originally offered as an option on the V12 Vanquish. With 20% quicker steering, stiffer dampers and springs, and shorter steering arms, the new S is more nimble, sporting, and communicative than the standard V12 Vanquish. The Vanquish S benefits from one of the most advanced construction techniques of any road car, using composite materials and processes familiar to the aerospace business but rarely seen in the automotive world. The core of the Vanquish S is an aluminium-bonded monocoque, constructed using a combination of folded aluminum panels, all bonded together with a proprietary process. This tub is bonded to a carbon-fiber tunnel, making this one of the strongest, lightest chassis ever made. This craftsmanship and technology required to build this chassis is a great part of what makes the Vanquish S so special.
The S front brakes feature a six-pot caliper, a 378mm disc, and a 21% larger pad area. These changes, along with a revised pedal assembly, contribute to better pedal modulation, while resisting brake fade and heat.
Shorter gearing (4.3:1 from 3.69:1) helps the S shave 2 seconds from the Vanquish 50-70 mph top gear acceleration time. Even with shorter gearing, the S can reach speeds over 200mph, and the 0-100mph sprint takes just 9.8 seconds. Changes in styling are subtle. A new front splitter and rear deck revision are the major changes, along with a new wheel style.
The Vanquish S offers Aston Martin customers the styling, grace, craftsmanship, and power that one would expect from the world's leading GT car.
