Esprit V8

The Lotus Esprit has been one of the finest sportscars for many years, reaching the status of automotive icon. The addition of a 3.5L all aluminum V8 with twin turbochargers has made this car a very serious performer indeed.

The Esprit's road holding is exceptional. Lotus has always been known for its phenomenal suspension design, and the current V8 is among the world's best. A mid-engine layout results in ideal front/rear weight distribution, instilling confidence and control, even at the limit.

Acceleration is also at the top of the world's list. With a 0-60mph time of 4.4 seconds, and an even more impressive 0-100mph time of 10.5 seconds, the 350bhp V8 offers truly astounding performance. Top speed is 180 mph.

The Esprit is built upon a rigid steel frame that is zinc coated to prevent corrosion. A composite body is added on top of this frame, including a Kevlar reinforced safety cell, which protects passengers in the event of an accident.

The Esprit V8 is now in its final run after almost 30 years in production. The last of the Esprits now include a series of improvements that will surely make this car a modern classic. New quilted leather seats, uprated suspension settings, the 'face-lift' styling from the 2002 Esprits, the front spoiler from the Sport 350, and aluminum accents in the interior all make the final Esprits the supercar to own before production ceases.
