An extremely hard to find 1996 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera 4S coupe, finished in Polar Silver, over a Black leather interior. This 993 C4S has only 10,000 carefully driven miles from new.
Known to Porsche fans as the purists Holy Grail, the 993 is the last generation of hand-built, air-cooled Porsche 911s. While retaining the elements intrinsic to the beloved and revered 911, Porsche made significant mechanical improvements and further refined its iconic form. The Carrera 4S carried the S motor in the Turbo’s more muscular body lines, fitted to an AWD system derived from the 959 supercar. Perfectly combining smooth power delivery with AWD surefootedness, the C4S changed the game for all other sports car manufacturers. It will be always known as one of the greats
Improving on the 964’s already exceptional performance meant significant redesigns to the running gear and engine. A new suspension design was implemented, eliminating the startling lift-off oversteer inherent in the previous design. A viscous coupling replaced the center differential of the previous AWD system, reducing weight and maintenance and allowing for variable transfer of power to the front wheels. The 3.6 liter flat-six motor featured significant improvements, including the introduction of Varioram, bumping mid-range and overall power to 285hp.
These 993s are getting increasingly hard to find, especially examples like this low mileage C4S that still retain their original paint, and original body panels.
